Ah, Rob J – the man behind the man. The guy with the hair. The dude in the chequered shirt. Some say the J stands for “Jahouse”, others say he can lick his own elbow. None would dispute the real truth though – he’s a ruddy good disc jockey.
Rob is one of the trio that form The Main Stem, one of dance music’s best kept secrets. Since 2007 they’ve been producing, editing, DJing, tweaking, fidgeting, scratching (even though the doctor told them not to) and generally causing mischief of an extremely likable audible nature. In fact they just dun a remix of Chicken Lips’ “See Fish” and there’s plenty more to come. Now give us an LP you swines!
Rob J’s set at Glitterball V (aka “the space one”) was universally considered to be one of the best entries into the Glitterball annals, so it was a no-brainer when we decided to ask him back for what’s to be our biggest party yet on 28th May. Gladly he not only said “yes”, he also went and did us another mix!
It’s a typically Rob J-esque blend of the finest house, funk and disco nuggets. All this and in perfect time for the start of summer too. Oh you ARE a clever sod, Rob…
